91 Year's Apart

Lilly came over to visit her great grandparents in Lindsay today. Here she is with Ken whose 93rd birthday in August nearly matches with Lilly's second.

Trish Robb sings

We went to a BBQ at retired teachers place. This voice is hard to describe. It's a but Carol King and Joan Baez. She sings a 60'a style girl, with a great voice. It's my Woodstock experience.

Quinten tries Goalie position

He was pretty nimble in net, but he was up against a pretty determined team. It was his last Lacross game of the season.

4th in the B Finals

Aiden had a busy day. He played two soccer games in the finals of his soccer tournament in the plus 30 degree heat. He rode his bike home then played his last lacrosse game. He must be beat in this heat.

Magna Mansion

Take a small city of 54,000 people and put the corporate offices of one of the worlds greatest entrepreneurs smack dan in the middle. Property about a mile square. It looks like an English castle, and there are two more buildings to the left just like it. One of them is actually an automotive parts factory. A kilometer behind is the horse stables for the horses that roam the perfect paddocks of the property.

Third Place in Toronto

In 40 degree humidex the boys tied 4 all with Woodbridge. When you realize  that Woodbrige have a fantastic training program and their players are we'll disciplined top rated players, it makes the tie all the sweeter.

Lilly on the Slide

This is the 4th and last child to use the pirate/slide. No fear with this girl. She's kinda like Aiden was at that age.

When Not to Dig

You know our community has come of age when you are big enough to have multiple layers of road works departments. This morning while we were out, Durham Regions arrives and is digging up the manhole. "We're rebuilding it." They had a fresh batch of concrete all mixed up in their wheelbarrow. I informed them of the complete street rebuild curbs sewers sidewalks etc. scheduled to start within a week.
Well those guys packed their 3 trucks and were gone faster than Ali Babba . Now I have this momento left behind.

Bread and Circuses

When you are the biggest polluter in the area, you need good public relations. The cement plant puts on a great free show each year. Free pulled pork and salads, free ice cream, falconry shows, amusement arcade, etc.    all free.

Quinten's Art

We were blown away by Quinten's oil pastel painting that he brought home from school. Symmetry, colour and balance. Hard to believe he is just 7 years old.  It's going to be framed and hung on the wall.

Quinten's Art

We were blown over by the oil pastel that Quin brought home from school today. It's an original piece of his own design. Not bad for a 7 year old.

Relay Race

Aiden was the anchor for the relay. The team was seventh when he got the baton. Aiden ran hard, overtook the guy in blue to finish sixth.

5 spot but really 4th

Aiden's was counted as fifth but really he was 4the. They made a mistake on the call at the finish line of the 100 meters.

The Shoe Thief

You have to keep an eye on your shoes at Lilly's house. Today it was loop, klop, klop, as Lilly was walking around the house in Aiden's soccer cleats.

He's Alive

The driver passed out, went off the road and was airborne when his truck hit the tree. Notice ... the airbags did not deploy.

Volunteering at Timmy's

I sure brewed a lot of coffee today working at Tim Hortons. I can attest to the fact that after 20 min from brew time the pot is dumped, even if it's full.
