Pretty Flower

Lexy came over to visit today. With such a pretty model on hand, how could I resist taking a few pictures of our granddaughter. We then went outside and explored the great outdoors. Click here to see a few more of the pictures taken today of Lexy.

Some Days Are Like This

Some days we all feel like the monkey in the cage. Today the grade 7's visited the Toronto Zoo and I was in charge of one of the buses. The weather was absolutely perfect, and the kids were well behaved so it was a pretty good experience overall. I brought my big lens which allowed me to reach right into the animal's domain, without having to crawl into the monkey cage with them.

Megan McKelvey and Aaron Staples are soon to be married. Wenda and I attended a shower for them on Saturday at the home of our friends David and Sharon Staples. What a lively bunch of guests. Sunset Walk

From left to right Bev, Wenda, David, Sharon and Phil joined me for a sunset walk in a conservation area right next to David and Sharon's home. After a delicious dinner, we walked through the park at sunset. Then we played Mexican Train and laughed til we cried. We always have a great time when we get together. It was a good time to celebrate my decision to retire in June. Click on the picture to see it full size.

The Big Easter Celebration

This has been a pretty busy weekend for us. Thursday after Allan's work we drove to Buffalo where Allan had a 5 and a half hour seminar on photography. We returned Friday a bit tired from the trip, then Saturday morning we went with the kids to have breakfast with the Easter Bunny in the community hall. They had a great time dancing and singing with the live kids singer. Sunday was the great Easter Egg hunt early in the morning. It keeps us busy and happy to see the joy in the children's eyes.

Birthday Girl

Today was Wenda's birthday so we went out with Tracy, Frank and the two youngest grandkids to Swiss Chalet. We had a great time but no birthday song. Even Swiss Chalet must be cutting back it seems.

One of the kids favourite pastimes is to play "Tea Party". When you visit, it is not uncommon for the kids to ask you to sit down for tea. Today we dressed Lexy up in an outfit that was last worn by Amber when she stayed with us camping in Smiths' Falls in 1995. She looks just as cute as Amber did in that little sailor outfit.
Quinten likes to dance to his 'Wiggles' DVD and during a certain part of the video, all friends are supposed to promenade, and the kids do ... it is quite cute.
