The Davidites' Temple
We went on brief tour of southern Ontario this Sunday. With the price of gas the way it is who can go far? We found this 200 year old temple of a splinter group of the Quakers that settled in Ontario. There are four identical sides with an identical door on each side. There is even an Arc of the Covenant inside at the centre of the room. They were pacifists and eventually their religion died out. All that remains is this rather unique temple steeped in symbolism. On The Toronto Subway
I spent Tuesday through Friday at a Health and Safety conference in Toronto this week. On the Friday, I brought my camera out to take a few pics. I was able to practice some reflection shots that might appear like double exposures but are in fact a single exposure using the glass to phase in a reflected image on top of the prime image. Here I am pointing my camera lens out the window on the subway platform and getting the reflection of a woman inside the subway train at the same time. A Walk in the Woods
We babysat our grandkids a bit this Sunday, then we went for a walk in the woods to enjoy a beautiful spring day full of sunshine and .... mosquitoes. The temperature was about 20C with full sunshine in the open areas. Just one more month to go before summer holdiays. Click on these coloured words to see more pictures.

The Birthday Boy
Aiden turned 5 and we have a very nice party for him today. This is a pretty impressive birthday present and it arose from his answer to the question, "What do you want for your birthday?"
He answered, "I want a battery operated car for my brother Quinten so he will leave mine alone?" Well he got a gas powered one that has its speed restricted instead. He was elated when he went outside to find his surprise present. Click on these coloured words to see more pics of the party.

My Favourite Model
Now that I have a new camera I need to practice using it to learn how to use it. I managed to convince my favourite model to pose for me so that I could have the time to fiddle with the controls and say, "So that is what that darned button is fer!" My father-in-law is now out of the hospital. Having student nurses practising on him did wonders in raising his blood pressure to the point they could release him. Tomorrow is Aiden's birthday party outdoors. Another opportunity to use the new camera. Here is a link to the latest pics. Just click on these coloured words to see them.

Ken with Pnemonia
Well has has been in the hospital for a week now and he must be getting pretty tired of the view. He is the only one in the room and just reads or does his crossword puzzles. Doreen has been in frequently to see him and Terry paid as visit as well. At 88 years a bout of pnemonia is pretty serious and we are quite happy to see that the infection is now gone.

Spring Time
I was out aereating the lawn and the lawn mower did its first cut today. That is a sign that summer is nearby. My father-in-law Ken is still sitting in the emergency room for a second day with COPD a breathing disorder. One new diagnosis and the attack seemed to come on as we left the theatre from the Michael Flately Lord of the Dance on Friday. So such are the conditions in Ontario hospitals that he has been in a bed in emerg since Friday evening.
