Aiden played a strong game in the last of the regular season. He had about 8 shots on goal, and many excellent passes right in front of the opponent net. He has been working on keeping his head up and looking around for opportunities to pass - like he is doing in the picture. Click on the picture to make it larger.
Now the playoffs begin !

Will You Still Love Me, Will You Still Feed Me
On the morning of my birthday, I played a Youtube version of the Beatles song for my wife, and happily she affirmed part of it but then said, "I'm sorry but I choose not to cook!" In the evening, the grandkids were quite happy for me on my birthday, or was it the cake they knew they would soon be sharing. I got genuine hugs and kisses from them all. One of them even baked me a cake p Lexy made me a 2 layer cake in her "Easy Bake Oven" and topped it off with frosting and sprinkles ... mmmmm.

Lilly's Baptism
It was our littlest granddaughter's special day. She was an absolute angel for about 3/4 of the time, but then hunger set in. After the service, we went to Frank's parents place where a lovely feast had been prepared for the occasion. It was a good time for family to get together and enjoy the pleasure of each other's company.

The Crusher
Whenever our team plays Belleville, we know it is going to be rough going. On Sunday Aiden felt the full wrath of The Crusher. The guy is over 125 pounds, which is more than twice Aiden's weight. He has a bad habbit of jumping on our guys when they are down and the ref does not seem to take notice. In this instance, Aiden was heading for the net with the puck when he fell and The Crusher turned and plopped imself butt first on Aiden's back. Look at the size of The Crusher's skate compared to Aiden's skate. Aiden had to get assistance by the trainer back to the bench and sat out the rest of the game after this. Hard to believe this guy is just 8 years old.

The Hamster
Quin had his turn on the skating treadmill. The machine allows a skilled teacher to monitor and correct bad technique. In the picture you can see that the Mighty Quin is not holding his skates in a straight on position while the floor is moving underneath him. When they first turned the machine on, he did a 'Superman' and went horizontal as his feet went out from underneath him.
After this session, he did a hockey lesson on ice and we could see a noticeable improvement, but he will need to be the hamster a few more times before he truly gets it right.

He Tied the Game
It has been a bit of a dry spell for Aiden since his last goal. Today the wait was over as he got an assist and a goal in a game against the Ajax team that is just above our team in the standings. Had one of our goals not been disallowed by the ref, we would have had a victory and moved ahead of the Ajax team. We are proud of Aiden's play as he pushed hard during this game. There are only a few games left in the regular season before the playoffs begin.

Lilly's Pushup
If I am ever going to walk, I'm going to have to crawl first, and if I am ever going to crawl, I am going to have to roll over. Now to roll over, I have to get my butt off the ground. Ugh it starts with a pushup grunt @#*^ I'm doing my best ... next lesson ... try eating some solid food ... I don't like it. Why can't I stay on that liquid diet? Click here to see more photos.
