OUCH ! !
The young man giving the punch is a Canadian Silver medalist heavyweight boxer and the one receiving it is a sparring partner. I was fortunate enough to convince the boxing club to let me enter the ring with the boxers to take pictures. It was difficult to keep up with the dancing of the boxing match while looking only through the viewfinder of the camera. These boys did not slow down and it was a regular boxing session for them.

Three Goals Today
Aiden was having a bit of a rough time with this game because the opposing team was fast... he got caught tugging on the opponent's jersey. But when he got some running room, he made the best of it.
On the weekend we took the boys for a walk down a nature trail then they had a good time playing in the creek and going for a walk on the trail. Click on here to see the pics.

The Cossacks Are Coming
All this week I have been dining out in Oshawa during Fiesta Week. Tonight we were treated to the senior dance ensemble from the Ukranian pavillion. It was standing room only as the Cossacks took to the stage.

Happy Fathers' Day
We dropped over to see the grandkids today. Lexy is quite happy to do her walking with a little help from a friend. Wenda gave her a taste of ice cream; however, you would have thought the world had ended when Wenda put the rest of the ice cream away. Click here to see more of the days photos.

A Friend Returns to the Stage
Bev Jeeves returned to the stage after a 23 year absence. She is the secretary of our local Historical Society that I am president and she has been a foundation of our Historical Society for a number of years now. Bev has a wonderful voice that comes out of a Nova Scotia tradition of having all family members play and instrument. Don Messer of Don Messer's Jubilee fame would tape his shows in Halifax then go to Bev's family house and play till the wee hours of the morning each time he was in Halifax to tape a show. No wonder she grew up with such talent. Click here to see more pics of her performing.

The Davidites' Temple
We went on brief tour of southern Ontario this Sunday. With the price of gas the way it is who can go far? We found this 200 year old temple of a splinter group of the Quakers that settled in Ontario. There are four identical sides with an identical door on each side. There is even an Arc of the Covenant inside at the centre of the room. They were pacifists and eventually their religion died out. All that remains is this rather unique temple steeped in symbolism. Click on these coloured words to see more of our Sunday drive.
