Bouncy Bouncy

Lexy was quite the girl bouncing on the trampoline with her hair all in motion. Wenda and I hosted a party for Aiden's soccer team at Tracy and Franks house. The boys played scrimmage soccer for over 3 hours, and Quinten had some of the smoothest moves even though he is younger than the rest of the boys playing.
It must have been a good time because the boys did not quit until it was getting dark.  Great fun all the way around.

One Man Team

A few of the key players on Quinten's team were away so Quinten had to work extra hard at tonight's game. Parents on both teams were amazed by his kicks as he could put the ball high in the air. Poor guy did so much running, he was getting out of gas in the last few minutes. He scored a goal though and really helped get that ball in motion.

Soccer Stars

We got the boys new soccer outfits and they could hardly wait to put them on and see if the magic of De Rossi and Messi could help their game.

Too Many Dance Partners

Aiden had a great game of soccer this week against the Oshawa team. He has terrific dribbling skills and can do amazing tricks with his feet, but at certain times, he was attracting just too many dance partners. Here he is passing out of the meleƩ to a teammate after gaining the interest of all of the opponents save the goal keeper.
He plays the midfielder position and really has to cover most of the field. One of the opponents had a breakaway with a 10 foot lead, and Aiden overtook him, relieved him of the ball and marched it back most of the way to the opponents goal before passing it on to his teammates.

Pimp My Rolls

I went to the Lindsay car show on Sunday with my father in law Ken. He turns 91 next month and has first hand experience with many of the cars and most of the old Brittish motorcycles because he was a championship motorcycle racer in the 30's and 40's.

Canadian Citizens Eh!

Today was a big day for Anton and Natalie as they were officially sworn in as Canadian Citizens. It was an interesting ceremony and we were all invited to reaffirm our Oath of Citizenship even if we were already Canadians. The judge did a great job of explaining the privlidge and the responsibilities of citizenship.
Afterwards, we all went back to their house for a pool party. The kids loved the pool party complete with burgers, hot dogs and a huge Canada cake. Click here to see a few more pictures of the event.

Cottage Life

We went to Tracy and Frank's cottage for the long weekend. It was our first time there and you could not have asked for better weather. It is an ideal place for the kids as Frank's lifetime friend and his family have the cottage next door, so the two families do a lot together. Quinten caught a pike off the dock while his dad and big brother had no better luck in the boat on the lake. He also has taken a liking to doing front flips off the dock. It was quite humorous to see Lexy and her friend Mia in the old fashioned laundry tub together as the whole crew did their evening baths. It was a good time for family and friends to get together.

Here Come Da Judge

Newcastle had a contest to find its Youth Ambassador for the Santa Parade later in the year. I was one of the judges for the contest (the tall guy). The weather was beautiful and we were successful in finding two excellent examples of our local youth with talent.  Both of these teens are former students of mine and very talented.
