Cell Phone While Driving

A girl these days just has to keep in touch - even it seems while driving. On Lexy's birthday, she received a Flintstones special, Princess Edition foot powered car - complete with a cell phone. So she took her new teddy for a spin around the living room and proceeded to send text messages while driving. Her birthday party was a great success with lots of kids playing all through the new house. Frank rented a giant jumping castle for them and the kids had an absolute ball. Today we dodged the worst of the rain and Aiden's team played 2 games for the final of the season. The first team they played was stacked and was able to run up quite a score on Aiden's team. The team won the second match. I think the kids grew considerably in their soccer skills this summer thanks to Frank's great coaching. What a team !

Bridal Pictures Added

For the last few days, I have been shooting young women in their bridal dress. I need photos for my photography business website, so I was very pleased that our daughter Tracy and a neighbour Tara volunteered. I now feel that my website is rather complete. I have my first customer calling to make a deposit for a wedding a year from now, so it is looking promising. Click here to see the photography website and the bridal pictures.

Lexy Poses

Lexy was in a good mood for getting dressed up today - cute as a button she was, so we got out the photo gear and took a few snaps of the little doll. Kinda looks like a Shirley Temple on the good ship Lollipop.

Blow Out The Candles

Grampy's Birthday Cake. Well when you are 89 and you have asthma, it's hard to blow out all those candles without a little help from a friend. Aiden volunteered to help grampy out.

Quinten's Haircut

It was a hot day today and the kids came over for a BBQ to celebrate their grampy's 89th birthday. I did not have a recent picture of Quinten so today was a good day for it. We set up a little splash pool and a spray fountain for the kids to run through - the kinda stuff that kids like to do on a hot summer's day.

Kids Visit

I have some new equipment - basically very portable studio type lighting that I am experimenting with this week. Today, when the grandkids visited, I was able to get in close and get a few candid shots. Click here to see more of the candid pictures.

Practice Portrait

My favourite model has graciously agreed to help me practice my photography skills. In front and to the West of our house is like a mini park with lots of trees in the background. Finally we are getting some nice sunny weather and the forecast looks to be dry for the coming week. Time to roll out the BBQ and enjoy what we have left of the season.

A Busy Boy

Aiden loves to ride his bike and practices every chance he gets in our driveway. Quinten does the same on his bike with training wheels. I have included a few pictures from our trip to Montreal last weekend. Click here to see more pics.

Wisdom at 65 Plus

I was surfing my photography websites that I visit when I found the site of a photographer, Zuckerman, who was making a book on Wisdom as defined by influential people all over the age of 65. I found the short video fascinating and thought that I would share it with you.

You're All Mime

Wenda and I met this jolly fellow on the streets of Montreal Sunday. He was like a Pied Piper who seemed to have amazing control over several volunteers from the crowd - he had them doing all sorts of strange moves on the street. The rain held off, and there was just a hint of a sprinkle here and there - nothing serious. Wenda enjoyed crepes in the old part of Montreal. Tonight, we are going to one of my favourite spots - Barbe Barn ... it is only a block from our hotel. The best ribs anywhere.
We just returned and the ribs were ... not as good as the last time and the place that used to have lineups down the block to get in ... was practically empty. I suspect it was bought out by Asians.
It was warm and humid tonight and we walked quite a bit down St. Catherines street (the strip in Montreal) lots of bars and restaurants quite active on the side streets. We saw beautiful fashions in the store windows. It was a nice evening.

Playing Music Together

When Quinten heard his great grandfather playing the harmonica, he wanted to play too. So Ken brought out his other harmonica and the two played several songs together. Lexy even joined in and started dancing. It was a fitting end to a pretty good day for the kids as we had taken them to a little water park in Lindsay. They had a ball.
